The new work "KV Project" of the "Blue Archive" team announced the termination of development
The "Blue Files" team's new two-dimensional work "KV Project" took only 21 days from its release to its conclusion.
A few days ago, Korea game developer Dynamis One announced the termination of the development of the new two-dimensional game "Project KV" jointly developed with Studio Alaya due to its own lack of experience.
According to public information, the game "Project KV" was first exposed on August 18 this year. On September 1, Dynamis One also released a teaser official website and promotional video, revealing the game's story and world view. Since the game was led by Park Byung-rim, the former producer of "Azure Files", and invited some members who had participated in "Azure Files" to join, it attracted the attention of many players on social media.
Dynamis One is a game studio founded in Korea in April 2024 by former Azure Files producer Park Byung-rim. During the development of Project KV, Dynamis One was responsible for the specific development and production of the game. Studio Alaya is in charge of the original planning part.
Previously, the game project team said that the original intention of "Project KV" was to bring players a new game experience and value, and planned to actively interact with players through various activities.
After the release of the PV of "Project KV", the project team also revealed the synopsis of the game on the official website: the nostalgic school drama of the knife-wielding girls, in the "Xueliao City Kabira", which gathers hundreds of dormitories, the lively and interesting story is finally unveiled. It's a fantastic story that transcends the boundaries of categories, but it's also an intimate one that we're already familiar with. The word "Kabira" may be derived from the name of the capital of the ancient Shakya state in India Buddhism.
In addition, the official website also revealed that the game's production team includes DoReMi and mX2j, composer Mitsukiyo, and screenwriter Isakusan, who recently announced his departure from the development team of "Azure Files".
When everyone was looking forward to the game, on September 8, Dynamis One suddenly made an announcement on social platforms, announcing that Project KV would stop development. In the announcement, Dynamis One apologized for the many issues and commotion caused by Project KV recently. They explained that due to the company's inexperience, the decision was made to terminate the development of Project KV after careful consideration to avoid causing more distress and problems. What's more, the announcement also mentions that all Project KV-related assets will be removed.
Currently, with the cancellation of the project, the official website of the game and the official account of X are also closed. The gameplay teaser video on YouTube has also been paused and is no longer available for viewing.
In this regard, some players think that this game only has some conceptual pictures and text exposed, perhaps because the official is testing the market attitude, and the result is not satisfactory and canceled. Of course, there are also players who understand the decision of the project team. Some industry insiders believe that the current global game market environment is not ideal, and cutting-edge game manufacturers may encounter difficulties beyond expectations when developing large-scale game projects, so they have to make a difficult decision to terminate development.
